How to Display Fuel Flow Rate on a Yanmar Marine Engine Interface

Over the years I've shown several boat owners how to enable the fuel flow rate display on their Yanmar marine diesel engine. Many didn't even know it was an option, so in this tutorial I walk you through the steps to view your fuel flow rate on the Yanmar interface while motoring.
The process for doing this can also be found in the 4JH operation manual.
In our opinion the fuel flow rate should be taken with a grain of salt, rather than a 100% accurate representation. That said, it does allow for useful comparison. For example;
When testing one engine with the STEINBAUER PowerModule installed and one without, there was a clear difference in the fuel flow rate.
If driving through patches of sargassum, the fuel flow rate can indicate if you've caught some on your props. On our engines, we noticed the flow rate almost double on the interface, because of the increased resistance and load on the engine. When this happens we stop the engine to close the props, shedding the sargassum before powering up again.
When motor-sailing a decrease in the fuel flow rate indicates less load on the engines, meaning the sails are doing most of the work and the engine can go off.
